Person Hospitalized After Hand, Arm Becomes Stuck In Conveyor Belt In Westchester

Firefighters had to perform a careful rescue after a worker's hand and arm became entangled in a conveyor belt in Westchester.

The incident happened on Wednesday, Jan. 17, when a worker got their hand stuck in a plow truck in Hartsdale at the High Point of Hartsdale Complex at 100 High Point Dr., according to the Hartsdale Fire Department. 

Arriving crews discovered that the worker had their arm and hand entangled in a sander’s conveyor belt and began working carefully to extricate the person from the machine. 

The worker was then taken to Westchester Medical Center and rushed into emergency surgery, firefighters said. 

The cause of the incident was not revealed.
